Staying at Le Riad Yasmine

by leannata September 2, 2019
Riad Yasmine

Arguably one of Morocco’s most instagrammable Riad’s is Le Riad Yasmine. After blowing up the internet with it’s beautiful courtyard/swimming pool, you’ll simply want to stay here for at least one night.

Location

Finding the Riad isn’t too difficult, but the door does blend into the surrounding and although we knew we were in the general area of the Riad, it was difficult for us to actually FIND the Riad on our own. The Riad is in the centre of an intersection and google maps doesn’t work very well in the Medina, so that didn’t help us out. If you see restaurant “Limoni”  the intersection would be right in front of you. Take the left path and Riad Yasmine is on the right hand side on that wall (don’t walk too far away it’s literally right there!)

Note: if you have the opportunity – try Limoni!! we went and it was soo good. Plus the inside of the restaurant is just stunning – there is a full lemon tree right in the centre of the restaurant!

Accommodation

As soon as you walk into the Riad, you’ll notice how extremely clean it is. While we waited for the keys to our room, we waited in the famous courtyard and was offered mint tea with cookies. The service was very friendly and quick! Also their adorable cat, Bowie, makes the wait go by so quickly.

We had the imsouane classic double room which was upstairs and was the perfect size for the 2 of us. The bedroom consisted of the bed, mini living room and spacious washroom. All amenities were provided including an extra towel for the swimming pool!

Breakfast was also provided and it was very delicious. It consisted of an assortment of breads, jams and yogurt with granola. I believe they were also making pancakes but unfortunately our ride was already outside and we missed out, hopefully next time we will stay longer to enjoy 🙂

Cost

To stay 1 night at Le Riad Yasmine in February, it cost us 90 euros (~$130CAD). There was also a tourist tax of 2.5 euros per person per night we stayed. This was paid when we arrived at the Riad.

We didn’t reserve the spot from airbnb and instead contacted the Riad directly due to a booking constraint. They were very quick to reply and coordinating payments was rather easy (via PayPal).

Recommendation

Overall I can see why this place has blown up so incredibly fast! Alice & Gabriel know how to make their guests feel at home, whether that is with the moroccan touches in each room, beautiful decor throughout the raid, delicious food or the impecable service they provide. I would definitely stay at Riad Yasmine the next time I’m in Marrakech!
